I stand for Oregonians thriving together; that means putting the well-being of our communities first. We’re often forgotten in rural Oregon, and the approaches that politicians in Salem and DC come up with don't fit the small towns and rural communities of Southern, Central, and Eastern Oregon. Our path forward means working on education infrastructure, attainable housing, and behavioral health access in a way that fits us.
Thriving at any age is built on education. Too many students in our district don’t have the resources they need. School facilities are aging and failing, and we can't keep asking our communities unsuccessfully to pay more taxes to build and repair our schools with bond money. In congress I will work on legislation to fund capital project

School facilities are aging and failing, and we can't keep asking our communities unsuccessfully to pay more taxes to build and repair our schools with bond money. In congress I will work on legislation to fund capital projects, Career and Technical Education partnerships for high schools and community colleges, and expanding broadband access for households. By strengthening our educational system, we can provide everyone better opportunity for success.
We face a major housing crisis across the state, but the solutions for small towns and rural communities looks much different than for Portland or Eugene. I've worked with partners to learn approaches that are effective for us, and am ready to advocate for Federal supports to do what we can't alone at the municipal, county, or state level

We need to empower our leaders to build our communities the way they best know how, and equip neighbors to help neighbors.

Our mental health has plummeted and substance use and fentanyl overdose deaths are skyrocketing. Oregon ranks near last nationally for youth and adult behavioral health and access to care, according to Mental Health America. I will work on new ways to provide healthcare, from funding mobile clinics and community health centers to reach vulnerable populations where they are, to expanding communications infrastructure for telehealth to people's homes. I will push legislation that funds treatment for folks that don't have adequate insurance. I will collaborate with local leaders on transitional housing efforts. With comprehensive and equitable programs, we can thrive together.
Your support and contributions will help elect new leadership for Oregon in Congress so that we can thrive together.
